Market Update - A Local Perspective

New Castle County, DE

New Castle County  experienced a 15.5% increase in the number of sold homes for the first four months of 2015 compared to 2014 and a 9.2% increase in the median price of sold homes, from $190,000 to $207,458. The number of homes that went under contract in the first four months of 2015 increased 16% from 2014.

Kent County, DE

For the first four months of 2015, Kent County experienced a 14.3% increase in the number of sold homes compared to 2014 and a 3.6% increase in the median sales price from $183,400 to $190,000. The number of homes that went under contract in the first four months of 2015 increased 19.4% from 2014.

Sussex County, DE

For the first four months of 2015, Sussex County experienced a 4.6% increase in the number of sold homes compared to 2014 and a 2% decrease in the median sales price from $250,000 to $245,000. The number of homes that went under contract in the first four months of 2015 increased 24.2% from 2014.

Southern Chester County, PA

Southern Chester County  experienced a 15.9% increase in the number of sold homes in the first four months of 2015 compared to 2014 and a 1.6% decrease in the median price of sold homes, from $320,000 to $325,000. The number of homes that went under contract in the first four months of 2015 increased 18.6% from 2014.

Cecil County, MD

For the first four months of 2015, Cecil County experienced a 35.5% increase in the number of sold homes compared to 2014 and a decrease in the median sales price of 2.7%; from $185,000 to $180,000. The number of homes that went under contract in the first four months of 2015 increased 14.1% from 2014.
